Description
- Provide reliable financial information and help improve the Accounting team’s work
- Assist with Xero’s month-end close
- Help meet financial reporting obligations as a listed company
- Handle balance sheet reconciliations and provide technical accounting support
- Build knowledge across the complete accounting cycle
- Improve processes and responsibly reduce manual work with emerging tools
- Assist with external disclosures, employee equity plans and strategic finance projects
- Use integrated finance systems for month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support interim and annual reporting, audits and external disclosures
- Find opportunities to improve and automate accounting workflows
- Help adopt AI and other emerging technologies to improve financial data quality
- Work with Finance, Tax, Treasury and FP&A teams across Xero’s global operations
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting
- Chartered Accountant qualification, or currently working toward one
- A process improvement mindset and enthusiasm for finding efficiencies
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to analyse financial results, identify trends and communicate findings clearly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to collaborate and build relationships across Finance and the wider business
- Curiosity about emerging tools such as AI, with sound judgment and a commitment to validating practical applications
