Appalachian Mountain Club
Appalachian Mountain Club
Founded in 1876, Appalachian Mountain Club is a nonprofit connecting people with the outdoors and caring for natural places. Its work spans hospitality, travel, recreation, and conservation across the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. AMC operates lodges and backcountry huts, leads guided outdoor programs and adventure trips, and offers skills training, books, maps, and trail and weather information. Members and volunteers contribute to trail building, land stewardship, conservation advocacy, and community programs. The organization’s teams support these outdoor experiences and conservation efforts, alongside educational programming and opportunities for people to take part through membership, volunteering, and donations.
