Technical IT Director, Dayforce

Lead Dayforce architecture, integrations, security, and optimization at Vestis, a North American uniform and workplace supplies provider. Oversee enterprise HR technology across the platform’s core capabilities.

Description

  • Own the Dayforce platform as its technical lead and subject matter expert.
  • Set technical direction, governance, administration, and stewardship for the platform.
  • Lead Dayforce design, configuration, implementation, enhancements, and support across Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Workforce Management, Time and Attendance, Talent, Recruiting, and related capabilities.
  • Define and maintain technical architecture, configuration standards, security models, integration standards, data governance practices, and operating procedures.
  • Lead complex configurations covering business rules, workflows, pay policies, schedules, eligibility, security roles, and organizational structures.
  • Set the Dayforce technical strategy and roadmap for enhancements, upgrades, new functionality, integrations, automation, and optimization.
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of integrations between Dayforce and HR, payroll, finance, identity, benefits, timekeeping, reporting, and other enterprise systems.
  • Oversee APIs, web services, integration tools, data exchanges, interfaces, and third-party connections.
  • Set and maintain standards for data governance, integrity, security, privacy, and quality.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, incident resolution, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage releases, upgrades, patches, regression and user acceptance testing, change control, and production deployments.
  • Oversee roles, permissions, access controls, segregation of duties, audit readiness, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and support procedures.
  • Define KPIs, service levels, operational metrics, and support processes.
  • Manage technical risks, dependencies, capacity, priorities, vendor performance, and technology decisions.
  • Work with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, business, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and application teams.
  • Lead requirements gathering, solution design, estimates, feasibility reviews, and implementation planning.
  • Manage external consultants, implementation partners, vendors, and Dayforce support resources.
  • Provide technical leadership for implementations, acquisitions, organizational changes, major enhancements, and complex system transformations.
  • Lead and mentor Dayforce administrators, developers, analysts, integration specialists, and other technical staff.
  • Explain complex technical topics in clear business terms to stakeholders and senior leaders.

Requirements

  • At least 8–10 years of experience in enterprise HR technology, HCM systems, IT applications, or related technology settings.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on Dayforce technical, administration, architecture, implementation, or integration experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Dayforce configuration, security, workflows, business rules, organizational structures, and platform capabilities.
  • Strong experience with Dayforce integrations, APIs, data interfaces, web services, and enterprise system integration.
  • Experience leading Dayforce implementations, enhancements, production support, and platform optimization.
  • Strong understanding of HCM, HR, payroll, workforce management, benefits, time and attendance, and related enterprise processes.
  • Experience managing internal technical teams and third-party resources.
  • Strong technical architecture, solution design, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to turn complex technical topics into clear business decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations.
  • Availability during standard U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
  • Dayforce certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, data concepts, reporting structures, and enterprise application architecture is preferred.
  • Experience supporting HR, payroll, or workforce management transformations in a complex enterprise environment is preferred.
  • Experience with audit, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, and access-control requirements for enterprise HR platforms is preferred.
