Senior Sales Representative, Municipal Water Solutions (Texas Remote)

Xylem is seeking a senior sales representative to grow municipal water-treatment business across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. The role covers customer relationships, consultative selling, proposals, demonstrations, and territory development.

Description

  • Sell odor-control, disinfection, and wastewater solutions to municipal customers across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas
  • Build and manage relationships with municipal stakeholders
  • Engage customers through site visits, virtual meetings, and strategic presentations
  • Prepare and present customized quotes, technical proposals, and product demonstrations
  • Lead lunch-and-learn sessions, webinars, and trade-show activities
  • Address customer inquiries with solutions tailored to their needs
  • Manage opportunities through each stage of the sales cycle in the CRM
  • Research and identify prospective customers within the assigned territory
  • Generate leads through cold calling and professional networking
  • Assess market conditions while tracking industry trends and competitors
  • Set sales objectives and work toward assigned targets
  • Partner with the sales team to support broader company objectives
  • Train and assist other members of the sales team
  • Review and interpret sales performance data
  • Strengthen relationships with strategic customers
  • Coordinate communication between customers and internal teams
  • Find opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
  • Coach junior colleagues and contribute to their professional growth
  • Influence stakeholders and align team activity with long-term priorities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, business, or a related discipline plus at least five years of experience, or equivalent experience covering fundamental theories, principles, and concepts
  • Prior sales representative or business development manager experience in a related industry
  • Proficiency with integrated business management and CRM platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce
  • Advanced capability in solution selling, business development, and brand expansion
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment, particularly odor generation and mitigation
  • Experience with odor-control methods such as chemical dosing, vapor- or liquid-phase scrubbers, and biological treatment systems
  • Understanding of EPA and state and local environmental rules affecting municipal utilities
  • Demonstrated technical or consultative sales success in environmental, water and wastewater, or industrial markets
  • Experience managing public-sector sales cycles involving RFPs, procurement, and municipal contracts
  • Ability to perform site assessments and work with engineers, operators, and public works decision-makers
  • Established connections within municipal utilities, public works departments, or water and wastewater authorities
  • Experience using Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar CRM systems for pipeline management and forecasting
  • Ability to travel regionally for on-site demonstrations, trials, and troubleshooting
