Senior Manager, Compute Solutions Architecture - Remote

Lead Latitude’s compute solutions architecture function at Megaport, combining technical pre-sales leadership with hands-on customer engagement. The player-coach role covers team development, cloud infrastructure design, strategic opportunities, and technical go-to-market execution.

Description

  • Lead Latitude’s Compute Solutions Architecture function, including team performance, technical win rates, and architectural standards.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop the team across ramp-up, account coverage, career progression, and performance management.
  • Define coverage models and standards for technical qualification, discovery, architecture reviews, proofs of concept, and win/loss analysis.
  • Manage solutions architect capacity planning and seller-to-SA ratios.
  • Develop reusable reference architectures, sizing models, proof-of-concept playbooks, and competitive technical positioning.
  • Work with sales leadership to improve forecast accuracy and manage technical risk.
  • Lead compute discovery, architecture, sizing, performance analysis, demonstrations, workshops, whiteboarding, and proofs of concept for strategic opportunities.
  • Translate customer requirements into bare metal, GPU-accelerated compute, and storage configurations.
  • Act as a customer escalation point and support evaluations, pilots, onboarding, and technical documentation.
  • Represent Latitude in customer briefings, webinars, and industry events.
  • Create joint Latitude and Megaport reference architectures and enable sales pods, partners, resellers, and wholesale channels to position compute solutions.
  • Design solutions addressing hyperscaler marketplace gaps, including hybrid-node and adjacency strategies.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to convey customer feedback and influence the roadmap.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Operations on server availability, GPU and CPU classes, deployment schedules, and customer expectations.
  • Keep technical notes and solution details accurate in the CRM.
  • Contribute to internal enablement content and repeatable solution patterns across Latitude and Megaport.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years in a customer-facing technical role, including 3 or more years leading or formally mentoring a technical pre-sales team.
  • Demonstrated player-coach experience managing a team while personally handling strategic accounts and closing recent deals.
  • Hands-on expertise in bare metal and GPU-accelerated compute, server architecture, virtualization, containers, and workload performance planning.
  • Strong AI and HPC infrastructure knowledge, including cluster design, high-performance networking, storage for training and inference, and dedicated-versus-hyperscaler cost considerations.
  • Working knowledge of BGP, private connectivity, and hybrid and multicloud architectures sufficient to place compute within broader solutions and collaborate with network architects.
  • Understanding of compute purchasing cycles, solution selling, and performance-focused workload sizing.
  • Experience creating technical go-to-market motions within a larger sales organization, including enablement, sales pods, and partner-led routes.
  • Comfort working through an integration involving multiple companies, systems of record, evolving processes, and decisions ahead of organizational alignment.
  • Located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, with approximately 30% travel availability.
  • Experience with an alternative or specialty cloud provider, such as a bare metal, GPU cloud, or neocloud business competing with hyperscalers on price-performance.
  • Experience designing or selling through cloud marketplaces, reseller networks, or wholesale channels.
  • Exposure to infrastructure businesses with constrained supply, including allocation, long-term commitments, and transparent expectation-setting.
  • Working Portuguese or Spanish language skills to support teams and customers in LATAM.
