Remote Billing Specialist - Cox Enterprises

Process invoices, payments, credits, and account adjustments for Cox Automotive while assisting customers by phone and email. Investigate billing discrepancies, maintain account records, and coordinate resolutions with internal teams.

Description

  • Serve as a first point of contact for inbound customer questions by phone and email
  • Coordinate with internal departments to assist customers and colleagues
  • Complete billing transactions, invoices, credits, and account adjustments accurately and on schedule
  • Create and maintain customer accounts in billing systems
  • Check and audit billing data for accuracy and completeness
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment problems, and customer questions
  • Apply payments and account adjustments accurately
  • Review billing reports to identify exceptions and emerging issues
  • Support collection activities and payment follow-up
  • Obtain information from internal teams to address billing concerns
  • Keep account records and related documentation accurate and current
  • Apply company billing procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve billing accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED plus at least two years of billing experience, ideally in a customer-facing position
  • A degree or certification beyond a high school diploma or GED may substitute for some experience, with at least one year of relevant experience required
  • Able to explain issues clearly, record resolutions, and identify when escalation is necessary
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Sound accounting, organization, detail-management, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Oracle, and other business software
  • Customer or vendor support experience with a demonstrated record of effective service
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without present or future employer sponsorship; OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, and visa sponsorship are not available now or later.
