HR Assistant – Accra, On-Site

Support recruitment, payroll coordination, employee records, onboarding, and HR administration. Assist executive scheduling and office coordination for CANAL+ Telecom Ghana in Accra.

Description

  • Manage recruitment from job advertising and candidate communication through screening and interview scheduling
  • Prepare employment contracts and onboarding materials
  • Coordinate induction and onboarding for new employees
  • Keep candidate, recruitment, employee, and HR system records accurate and current
  • Record employee changes such as promotions, transfers, and departures
  • Prepare HR letters, certificates, and employment verification documents
  • Track probation periods and assist with employee confirmation procedures
  • Gather and verify information needed for payroll processing
  • Work with payroll providers or finance teams to support accurate salary payments
  • Assist with benefits, insurance, leave, attendance, and related employee records
  • Manage calendars, arrange meetings and appointments, and identify scheduling conflicts for senior managers
  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials, presentations, minutes, and action follow-up trackers
  • Arrange business travel, accommodation, visitor logistics, and supporting documentation
  • Draft, proofread, format, and securely archive confidential correspondence, reports, memos, and internal communications
  • Assist with office administration, supplier coordination, filing, purchase requests, and expense records
  • Respond to routine employee questions as the first point of contact for HR
  • Contribute to employee engagement and internal communications
  • Help address employee concerns while protecting confidentiality
  • Arrange training logistics, registrations, and attendance tracking
  • Track training completion and maintain employee development records
  • Assist with performance management procedures and documentation
  • Support HR audits and compliance work
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce analytics when requested
  • Protect the confidentiality of employee information

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related discipline
  • One to three years of experience in HR administration or an HR assistant position
  • Experience in a multinational organization or in telecommunications, media, or entertainment is advantageous
  • Understanding of HR procedures and employment legislation
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Careful attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
  • Strong calendar management, meeting coordination, minute-taking, and action-tracking skills
  • Professional handling of confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to produce clear executive documents, presentations, reports, and business correspondence
  • Experience using human resources information systems is advantageous
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
