HP Senior Business Development Manager – Retail Industry Solutions

Lead HP’s retail solutions business development efforts, shaping client strategies, sales pursuits, and complex RFP opportunities. Guide geographically distributed teams through extended deal cycles and cross-functional engagements.

Description

  • Build and strengthen client relationships throughout extended sales cycles while increasing confidence in HP’s capabilities through education and influence.
  • Engage early in opportunities to shape client strategies, define requirements, and position HP effectively.
  • Lead a geographically distributed virtual team and coordinate business development activities.
  • Report on growth progress and encourage collaboration across stakeholders.
  • Create and advocate for service recommendations using business cases, analysis, and presentations.
  • Educate stakeholders, resolve pursuit challenges, and coordinate consistent RFP and RFI responses.
  • Create pursuit plans that support account teams during complex, lengthy sales cycles.
  • Assess potential opportunities and determine which should move forward for active pursuit.
  • Introduce new ideas and lead large, cross-functional teams toward shared objectives.
  • Serve as a functional manager by establishing strategy, policies, and organizational direction.
  • Coach, develop, and support less-experienced employees.

Requirements

  • A four-year or graduate degree in computer science, business administration, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience and demonstrated capability.
  • Typically 10 or more years of experience in services or solutions, sales, business development, engagement, or a related area.
  • Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
  • Certified Business Development Professional certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of auditing, automation, bid management, business development, business strategy, finance, marketing, Microsoft SharePoint, process improvement, procurement, project management, proofreading, proposal development and management, proposal writing, RFPs, risk management, Salesforce, templates, and value propositions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%.
