Fraud Detection Specialist

Monitor banking transactions and investigate fraud alerts involving deposits, checks, ACH, wire transfers, and branch activity. Support compliance, fraud trend analysis, reporting, and loss recovery at Simmons Bank.

Description

  • Review suspected fraudulent items on customer accounts and items received by the bank.
  • Investigate alerts and reports of external fraud involving ATM deposits, checks, loans, ACH, wire transfers, and branch transactions.
  • Review suspended mobile deposits and place holds, approve, void, or open cases as appropriate.
  • Review ATM deposits, place holds, and open cases as appropriate.
  • Handle deposit, check, and ACH fraud cases with low to moderate aggregate dollar amounts.
  • Assist bank personnel and answer questions about fraudulent activity.
  • Help prepare monthly reports.
  • Track fraud and report monthly losses and recoveries.
  • Monitor fraud detection systems, analyze data for trends, and develop fraud schemes.
  • Analyze large volumes of transaction data to identify potential or actual fraudulent transactions.
  • Support incoming data flow and assign work to team members.
  • Ensure departmental documents and activities follow applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete required compliance training.
  • Carry out other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred: 2–4 years of experience in an equivalent role.
  • Read and understand simple instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.
  • Read and interpret procedure manuals, business correspondence, journals, and government regulations.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Write business correspondence, routine reports, and procedures.
  • Respond in writing to customer complaints, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook proficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Work from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
