Healthcare Fraud Data Analyst – United States Hybrid
Analyze VA healthcare data with Palantir, SQL, and Python to identify fraud, waste, and abuse. Develop detection rules, investigate anomalies, build dashboards, and produce prioritized leads for the VHA Fraud Rapid Response Center.

- Develop, test, and document business rules and algorithm logic for fraud, waste, and abuse schemes
- Contribute to provider risk scoring and case-prioritization standards
- Configure, develop, and deploy solutions on VA’s Palantir platform, including data pipelines and system integrations
- Unify claims, enrollment, and exclusion records into a consolidated Provider 360 view
- Assist with anomaly detection and healthcare network analysis
- Produce weekly analytics for War Room decision packages and prioritized lead lists
- Extract, prepare, and analyze federal healthcare data to identify fraud, waste, and abuse
- Assist in preparing claim review workpapers
- Back-test detection rules, monitor precision, and support quality assurance and corrective action plans
- Support federal benchmarking and align VHA analysis with CMS data and methodologies
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and reporting data for quarterly fraud trends, improper payment reduction, risk governance, and leadership reporting
- Record rule specifications, acceptance criteria, and analytical methodologies
- Train VA staff to operate War Room analytics independently
- Report to the Analytics and Technology Program Director and Senior Data Analyst, providing advisory and analytical support while Government personnel retain final decision authority
आवश्यकताएँ
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Able to pass a Tier 2 / Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) and obtain a VA PIV card
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field such as data science, statistics, or health informatics
- 2–5 years of experience analyzing federal healthcare data, including Medicare, Medicaid, or VHA data
- Experience developing business rules for healthcare data analytics
- Strong SQL and Python coding skills, or comparable experience with PySpark or R
- Proficiency with analytics platforms, data pipelines, transformations, and dashboards
- Working knowledge of healthcare claims data, including claim types, CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 codes, NPIs, and provider and beneficiary records
- Ability to handle PHI and sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and VA privacy requirements
- Able to complete required VA TMS training
