South African Payroll Supervisor — Betway Global

Oversee multi-entity payroll for Super Group’s South African digital gaming brands, leading PaySpace processing, reconciliations, statutory reporting and payroll controls.

Descriere

  • Lead daily payroll delivery and first-level review across the Group’s South African entities.
  • Coordinate the monthly payroll timetable from start to finish and allocate work.
  • Check payroll inputs and approved employee changes against Workday and supporting records.
  • Review PaySpace payroll registers, reports, variables and statutory outputs before Payroll Manager approval.
  • Investigate unusual movements, errors and data exceptions, record resolutions and escalate significant issues.
  • Oversee payroll, general ledger, salary control, benefits, tax and payment reconciliations.
  • Coordinate statutory submissions and payments, keeping the supporting evidence.
  • Maintain complete, accurate payroll records ready for audit.
  • Support internal and external audits, payroll control testing, access reviews and issue remediation.
  • Coordinate PaySpace tax-year and statutory updates, configuration tests and controlled system changes.
  • Work with HR and Finance on hires, terminations and remuneration changes.
  • Supervise and develop payroll team members, monitoring work quality and deadlines.
  • Find ways to standardise, simplify and automate payroll processes.
  • Safeguard confidential payroll and remuneration data and follow data protection and information security requirements.
  • Administer and reconcile payroll-related third-party payments, including retirement funding, medical aid, garnishee orders and approved deductions.
  • Prepare payroll registers, payment validations, variance and exception reports, headcount and employment cost reports, statutory reports, reconciliations and audit control outputs.

Cerințe

  • Relevant payroll qualification, diploma or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least five years of hands-on payroll experience, including two or more years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong practical PaySpace experience covering processing, validation, reporting and issue resolution.
  • Working knowledge of Workday to validate employee master data and manage HR-to-payroll data dependencies.
  • Experience processing and reviewing multiple payrolls in a multi-entity environment.
  • Strong knowledge of South African payroll tax, statutory reporting and payroll-related labour requirements.
  • Experience with payroll controls, reconciliations, audit evidence and confidential employee data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach and coordinate a payroll team under deadline pressure.
  • Careful attention to detail, sound judgement, integrity and discretion.
  • Strong sense of accountability.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
  • Collaborative approach to cross-functional work.
  • Strong organisation and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Adaptability in fast-moving environments.
  • Desirable: experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or another ERP, including payroll-to-general-ledger integration.
  • Desirable: exposure to payroll automation, system implementation or integration testing.
  • Desirable: experience in a SOX-aligned, listed or highly controlled environment.
  • Desirable: cross-border or multi-jurisdictional payroll experience.
  • Consent to credit, criminal record and qualification verification checks.
