Senior Payroll Services Specialist

Lead Finland payroll operations, compliance, provider relationships, and transformation work at UPM, a global renewable materials company. Hybrid position based in Finland.

Descriere

  • Contribute to Finland payroll and time management transformation through transition work, process design, new ways of working, and service model readiness.
  • Help implement and stabilize payroll and time management technologies.
  • Coordinate attendance, variable pay, benefits, and master data with external payroll providers and internal teams.
  • Track service level agreements with external providers.
  • Reconcile pre-payroll and post-payroll data, conduct audits, and check report quality.
  • Maintain compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory reporting rules.
  • Assist with accounting reconciliations, general ledger postings, year-end close, and internal and external audits.
  • Handle escalations on complex payroll questions about pay, tax deductions, benefits, and international cases.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, process optimization, standardized payroll frameworks, and digital tool development.
  • As the role develops, potentially support payroll operations and improvement initiatives across European countries.

Cerințe

  • At least 3–5 years of payroll operations experience for Specialist level, or 5+ years for Senior Specialist level.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience managing payroll operations in Finland.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll administration, collective labour agreement compliance, social security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms such as Workday.
  • Experience with time and attendance systems, office software, and case management tools.
  • Ability to manage external payroll vendor relationships and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks.
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Collaborative approach and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English.
