Lead capability development, skills frameworks, and AI/ML upskilling for Xero’s Product & Technology teams. Drive measurable improvements in internal mobility, retention, workforce capability, and time to productivity.

- Lead capability development across Product & Technology
- Work with engineering, product, design, security, and data science teams
- Create frameworks that help specialists build skills ahead of industry change
- Partner with leaders to develop a high-performance capability culture aligned with company strategy
- Track outcomes such as delivery velocity, retention, internal mobility, time to productivity, and eNPS
- Assess capability gaps and develop targeted learning solutions
- Create a Product & Technology Capability Framework linking technical and behavioural skills to business OKRs
- Develop upskilling programmes focused on AI/ML and emerging technologies
- Build internal mobility pathways across teams, disciplines, and career stages
- Define success measures that extend beyond programme completion
- Work with senior leaders across Product, Design, Engineering, and People Experience

- Proven experience creating or managing capability programmes, skills frameworks, or professional development initiatives
- Experience in technology, SaaS, or other high-growth environments where programmes have operated at scale
- Working knowledge of software development lifecycles, engineering career paths, product management, AI/ML, and emerging technologies
- Ability to influence without formal authority and earn the confidence of technical stakeholders
- Strong relationship-building skills combined with strategic judgement
- An analytical, outcomes-oriented approach to measuring velocity, retention, mobility, time to productivity, and eNPS
- Experience partnering across functions with senior technical leaders, People Experience, and Group Organisation Development
- Strong interest in emerging technologies and their implications for workforce capability
- Ability to combine disciplined programme design with iterative delivery informed by feedback
