Tier 3 End User Workspace Engineer – Microsoft 365 & Intune
Senior End User Workspace Engineer responsible for Microsoft 365 and Intune security, endpoint management, resilience, and complex escalations across managed services clients. Provides technical leadership while mentoring junior engineers.
Description
- Serve as a subject matter expert for End User Computing and Microsoft 365 within Managed Services
- Produce requirements covering service architecture, design, management, and configuration
- Implement and continuously evolve the End User Workspace Strategy
- Manage IT asset and service risks while improving cost efficiency, mobility, and productivity
- Maintain the resilience of the End User Computing estate, Microsoft 365 tenant, and related services
- Advise, support, and mentor junior team members as a subject matter expert
- Lead the implementation, development, and configuration of End User Workspace solutions for client infrastructure
- Resolve complex End User Workspace escalations
- Deliver third-line incident and problem management, including root cause analysis and resolution
- Act as a Digital Workplace subject matter expert across the department, wider function, and organisation
- Work closely with Cyber Security and Information Security specialists
- Keep technical skills and professional knowledge current
- Apply relevant industry frameworks and design principles
- Deploy and integrate Microsoft 365 solutions, with particular emphasis on Intune, alongside internal departments
- Coordinate with Microsoft representatives, third-party vendors, external suppliers, and service partners on M365 and Intune testing, development, and transition
Requirements
- Extensive third- and fourth-line support experience with End User Workspace technologies and Microsoft 365 solutions, particularly Intune device management and security
- Expert-level experience with Identity and Access Management solutions
- Practical Intune experience managing endpoints, applying security policies, and maintaining compliance across Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices
- Experience administering and securing Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Defender, and OneDrive
- Demonstrated success implementing, managing, and optimizing Microsoft 365 solutions focused on device management, compliance policies, and security
- A track record of mentoring and developing junior team members
- Expertise supporting international critical infrastructure while meeting 24x7x365 operational SLAs
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of Microsoft 365 and Intune configurations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification, or substantial experience demonstrating expertise in End User Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Intune technologies
- Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Associate certification
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate certification
- Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate certification
- Microsoft Certified: Teams Voice Engineer Expert certification
- Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert certification
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate certification
