Software Engineering Manager, Fraud and Risk Platforms (Hybrid)

Lead US-based engineering for Q2’s fraud and decisioning platforms within a digital banking and lending technology company. Own reliable enterprise delivery, AI-enabled capabilities, and team development in a hybrid role.

Description

  • Own the US functional remit for a core fraud and risk platform domain
  • Set technical direction and oversee platform health and delivery results
  • Establish architectural standards, operational KPIs, and reliability targets
  • Develop AI-enabled capabilities through automation, model-based decisioning, and data observability
  • Maintain production stability through monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate roadmap priorities with Product, Risk, Data, and Engineering partners
  • Improve platform scalability, resilience, and security
  • Lead and support US-based engineers in their day-to-day work
  • Work within a globally distributed engineering organization
  • Maintain consistent delivery, engineering quality, shared standards, and tooling
  • Coordinate across regions and remove execution obstacles
  • Guide adoption of AI-first engineering practices
  • Balance responsible innovation with production discipline and compliance requirements
  • Coach engineers through performance management and career development
  • Advance code review, architectural governance, DevOps maturity, and CI/CD practices
  • Run Agile ceremonies centered on predictability, accountability, and measurable outcomes
  • Contribute to hiring and onboarding

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of software engineering experience, or 4 years with an advanced degree
  • At least 2 years of people management experience with evidence of developing teams
  • Experience owning or operating a production enterprise platform against defined reliability and performance targets
  • Experience incorporating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise systems is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, observability, secure development, and scalability
  • Experience working in a globally distributed delivery model
  • Demonstrated success improving operations and delivery predictability
  • Leadership presence grounded in ownership, accountability, and results
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Authorization to work for any US employer
  • Unable to require employment visa sponsorship or transfer
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is not explicitly required; an advanced degree is mentioned only as an alternative to some experience
