Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Active Secret Clearance (Austin Hybrid)

Build LLM-powered agents and dependable AI workflows for Striveworks’ government-focused operations platform. Contribute to Chariot, customer projects, and mission-critical deployments.

Description

  • Create machine learning solutions for customer engagements and long-term product development
  • Coordinate complex data pipelines and agentic workflows
  • Advance the capabilities of Chariot, Striveworks’ proprietary AI operations platform
  • Develop dependable AI systems across models, agents, tools, and workflows
  • Evaluate and enhance AI system performance and usability
  • Partner closely with customers, data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps engineers
  • Guide platform enhancements and broaden organizational capabilities
  • Adapt solutions for mission-critical field deployments through direct customer engagement
  • Deliver insights that influence future product direction
  • Travel for up to 20% of working time

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related field, plus at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Proven record of delivering data-centric systems spanning data engineering, data cleansing, ETL, machine learning, and production analytics
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, evaluating, and optimizing LLM-based agents and agentic workflows
  • Experience connecting AI systems to external tools, APIs, MCP servers, and enterprise data sources
  • Experience creating evaluation methods and frameworks for agent performance, reliability, and safety
  • Working knowledge of RAG, tool use, planning, and multi-agent system architectures
  • Strong command of machine learning languages and libraries, with expert-level Python proficiency
  • Knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, and/or scikit-learn
  • Solid software engineering foundation in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
  • Proficiency in at least one systems language, including Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Scala
  • Experience with modern engineering practices and tools such as Agile, version control, issue tracking, CI/CD, and debugging
  • Active Secret or higher U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related field, plus at least 6 years of relevant experience
