Remote Billing Coordinator in Minnesota

Manage client billing portfolios, electronic invoicing, compliance reviews, and month-end billing activities for Fish & Richardson, a global intellectual property law firm. This full-time remote role is based in Minnesota.

Description

  • Oversee assigned client billing portfolios from prebill preparation and attorney revisions through invoice delivery.
  • Check time entries, matter information, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance with client billing requirements.
  • Work with attorneys and internal teams to secure approvals, resolve questions, and meet monthly billing deadlines.
  • Submit invoices through client portals and electronic billing systems, track their progress, and address rejected submissions.
  • Keep client, matter, and billing-instruction records current across financial systems and tracking tools.
  • Conduct billing quality checks, investigate discrepancies, and answer internal and client billing questions promptly.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end billing, reporting, audit support, and ongoing process improvements.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in billing coordination, electronic billing, accounts receivable, or a related area is preferred, with law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of client billing guidelines, invoice review, electronic billing, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Experience with Aderant or another legal billing platform is preferred.
  • Familiarity with LEDES formats and electronic billing portals is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and remote collaboration tools.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with reliable follow-through and the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and professional communication abilities, including discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Must be located in Minnesota.
