Field Service Technician - Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Provide field service for GLORY’s high-speed cash-handling equipment across the Chicago area. The role covers troubleshooting, repairs, installations, upgrades, customer communication, and regular travel to client sites.

Description

  • Oversee customer service and support for assigned clients
  • Troubleshoot and repair high-speed cash-handling equipment independently
  • Maintain accurate control of service parts and tools
  • Keep up with technical and functional updates to GLORY equipment
  • Deliver a positive customer experience throughout each service engagement
  • Identify system faults and complete the necessary repairs
  • Communicate maintenance progress and expected downtime to customers
  • Perform machine installations, Engineering Change Notices, system upgrades, and hardware or software upgrades
  • Adhere to established safety procedures and policies
  • Complete all required Environmental Health & Safety training
  • Promptly document job-site accidents involving injuries or property damage
  • Travel regularly to customer locations throughout Chicago and surrounding areas
  • Provide service updates and report to the District Service Manager

Requirements

  • Professional studies in electromechanics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field, either completed or in progress; equivalent work experience may also qualify
  • Related certifications in mechanics, electronics, automation, or data processing are preferred
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Practical experience with personal computers, Microsoft Office, network sites, and email
  • Structured troubleshooting skills, including isolating faults at the PCB or component level
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Understanding of AC/DC power distribution and digital and analog circuitry
  • Experience servicing high-speed paper-handling equipment; ATM or copier repair experience is preferred
  • Three to five years of technical field service repair experience is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods and frequently kneel, bend, squat, sit, and twist
  • Ability to work at customer locations such as financial institutions, casinos, truck stops, recreational parks, and retail stores
  • Availability for rotating weekend and holiday assignments
  • Availability for an on-call rotation, generally every three to five weeks, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to drive to customer locations during working hours
  • Willingness to travel occasionally beyond the assigned territory, including by air and overnight
  • Ability to work in locations with limited accessibility
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Residence within the assigned territory or willingness to relocate; relocation assistance is not available
