Executive Care Coordinator Kentucky Remote

Guide patients through insurance reimbursement and access to complex medications as an Executive Care Coordinator. Support patient services programs for life sciences companies while engaging patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.

Description

  • Manage each patient case from enrollment through resolution
  • Conduct benefit investigations and monitor prior authorizations and denial appeals
  • Support patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, and other stakeholders through resolution by email and inbound and outbound calls
  • Explain access and reimbursement tools, benefits, and program eligibility
  • Educate healthcare provider offices about payer processes and procedures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, prescribers, and client stakeholders
  • Answer inbound calls using approved program FAQs and direct patients to appropriate resources
  • Respond to client and healthcare provider inquiries
  • Provide individualized case management and explain next steps for medication coverage and access
  • Identify and explain coverage requirements, including prior authorizations, appeals, tier exceptions, and formulary exclusions
  • Use electronic tools and manual research to assess benefits and payer coverage
  • Follow up with payers and healthcare providers regarding submissions and outcomes
  • Coordinate nurse education with nurse educators and support adherence services
  • Identify peer support resources and proactively communicate re-verification or re-enrollment requirements
  • Recognize and report adverse events, product complaints, special situation reports, and medical inquiries
  • Record reimbursement activities in the Lynk system, including claims status, payments, and appeals
  • Prepare reports and analyses to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Comply with SOPs, corporate policies, and program operating procedures
  • Complete other assigned duties and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • A degree in healthcare administration, social science, or a closely related field is strongly preferred
  • At least two years of experience delivering or managing healthcare access services is strongly preferred
  • Five to ten years of experience in insurance reimbursement, patient access, direct patient care, or patient education may substitute for the degree
  • Relevant certifications and at least five consecutive years of applicable experience may be considered, including PACS, CHES, or CCM
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Understanding of insurance processes, HIPAA, and Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
  • Strong critical-thinking and issue-resolution skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional approach when working with diverse stakeholders
  • Bilingual ability is a plus
  • Must satisfy all work-from-home requirements; remote eligibility depends on business need
  • Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy is preferred
  • Successful completion of a background check and, where applicable, a drug screen
