Director of Global Sales Training and Execution

Lead BD’s global sales capability strategy, training architecture, and performance measurement for its medical technology business. Expand seller development across commercial teams worldwide.

Description

  • Design a forward-looking global sales capability model that supports BD’s commercial and go-to-market strategy
  • Define the essential seller and customer-engagement capabilities for each role and segment
  • Evaluate the skills BD sellers need today and in the future
  • Direct capability investments toward stronger seller performance, customer outcomes, funnel health, win rates, and faster deal closure
  • Convert global sales methodology into practical behaviors, tools, and learning experiences
  • Create connected learning journeys spanning onboarding, professional development, and capability building
  • Establish and uphold enterprise-wide standards for sales training programs
  • Develop internal and external relationships to uncover best practices, vendor options, and emerging capability trends
  • Create metrics and analytics to track behavior change, skill adoption, and commercial results
  • Implement enterprise governance for sales training across global business units and regions
  • Design and conduct audits of training quality, consistency, and effectiveness
  • Evaluate sales training to determine where BD should standardize, expand, fund, or discontinue programs
  • Collaborate with Business Unit Commercial Excellence, Sales Leadership, Product Marketing, HR, and other partners
  • Lead change programs and identify ways to apply global resources for greater commercial impact and return on investment
  • Manage, develop, and motivate a global team of learning and development professionals

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of professional experience
  • At least 5 years leading global sales enablement, sales training, or commercial capability functions in a large, complex enterprise
  • Experience in the life sciences and/or technology industries is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, and learning measurement
  • Proven ability to build and scale global capability development systems across regions, cultures, and selling roles
  • Strong business partnership skills across all organizational levels
  • At least 5 years of experience leading managers and senior leaders
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Sound business judgment and executive presence
  • Ability to make decisions using data and analysis
  • High integrity, learning agility, and resilience
