Assistant General Manager – Oxford Suites Boise (Onsite)

Support daily operations at Oxford Suites Boise by leading departments, maintaining service standards, managing financial performance, and developing hotel staff.

Description

  • Assist the General Manager with daily hotel operations.
  • Maintain guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, sanitation, cleanliness, and team performance.
  • Lead department managers across front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
  • Manage operating expenses, labor costs, budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly budget and profit-and-loss reviews.
  • Review invoices, direct billing, collections, payments, and account reconciliations.
  • Act as the direct supervisor and primary contact for department leaders.
  • Support hotel objectives, property enhancements, and capital expenditure recommendations.
  • Inspect the property’s presentation and attend management and departmental meetings.
  • Coordinate with the home office and assume General Manager responsibilities during absences.
  • Support department managers with recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, development, and performance reviews.
  • Investigate employee relations and safety matters and assist with return-to-work processes.
  • Review staff schedules and process payroll in accordance with labor laws.
  • Anticipate guest needs, improve experiences, and resolve complaints.
  • Track guest feedback and introduce service improvements.
  • Complete daily activity reports and communicate information between shifts.
  • Follow attendance policies and perform additional assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A two- or four-year college degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of progressive hotel or related hospitality experience is required.
  • Previous General Manager experience is preferred.
  • Must be a United States citizen or hold a valid work permit.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities are required.
  • Must be available for extended hours, including nights, evenings, and weekends.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Must perform specified grasping, manipulation, repetitive hand and arm movements, squeezing, and overhead reaching.
  • Must work indoors or outdoors and remain standing throughout the day.
  • Must frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must occasionally bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb stairs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in rain, wind, snow, and heat.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening is required.
