Legal Billing and Collections Specialist
Manage monthly billing, retainers, collections, and utilization reporting for a US-based law firm. Support attorneys with billing compliance and use AI tools to improve billing processes.
Opis
- Answer billing policy questions from attorneys and staff
- Identify and document recurring billing errors and help resolve them
- Support billing projects and provide coverage when team members are absent
- Deliver weekly and quarterly performance reports to attorneys
- Track billable hours, utilization, and revenue
- Follow up on collections and escalate unresolved matters
- Contact clients about retainer replenishments and overdue invoices
- Apply retainer funds, reconcile billing activity, and monitor outstanding balances
- Coordinate attorney approvals and send invoices on schedule
- Use AI billing tools to review bills and improve processes
Zahteve
- At least two years of experience in legal billing, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, or a related financial role
- Law firm experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with legal practice or matter management systems; LEAP experience is strongly preferred
- Practical experience using AI tools to improve workflows and operational efficiency
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly spot discrepancies
- Professional communication skills for financial matters involving attorneys, clients, and stakeholders
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
- English language proficiency
