Lead Karat’s Bengaluru engineering organization as it develops SaaS workflows, interview platforms, and AI-assisted technical assessment products. Partner with teams in India and the United States to build and operate tools for hiring.

Opis

  • Lead and expand Karat’s engineering organization in India.
  • Report to the Vice President of Engineering and work with engineering leaders and teams in the United States.
  • Direct engineering delivery across product areas and features, from technical planning to launch and ongoing operations.
  • Guide development of enterprise workflows and self-service hubs for the hiring process.
  • Deliver products and integrations such as the HM Experience App, Recruiter Hub, ATS connections, candidate funnel management, and post-interview decision portals.
  • Improve delivery operations tools, messaging and notification systems, cost-saving efforts, and payment operations.
  • Evaluate and use emerging technologies, including AI-assisted workflows, to advance Karat’s interviewing platform and technical assessment capabilities.
  • Mentor senior technical talent and engineering managers.
  • Grow local leadership and delegate ownership of products and features across teams.
  • Build strong working relationships across India and global teams to support a unified organization.

Zahteve

  • At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping and operating customer-facing hosted SaaS products in production.
  • Strong technical expertise and experience with AI-driven technologies.
  • Ability to contribute to architecture, design and code reviews, and consequential technical tradeoffs.
  • Experience leading the full software development lifecycle for customer-facing products.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and managing engineer performance.
  • Experience managing engineering managers is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop senior engineering leaders and delegate product, technical, and people leadership responsibilities.
  • A record of improving engineering culture, development processes, and technical systems while balancing delivery, platform health, reliability, security, and technical debt.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams, ideally across engineering organizations in India and the United States.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Must live in Bengaluru, India.
  • Applications and submissions must be entirely in English.
  • Ability to overlap working hours with the United States.
