Descriere

  • Lead the Language Access Interpreter Services Command Center and oversee teammate scheduling
  • Create and implement translation and interpretation systems across the health system
  • Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, organizational policies, and other requirements
  • Contribute to system-wide strategic planning for language services
  • Direct quality measurement and continuous improvement for translation and interpretation services
  • Partner with leaders, employees, and medical staff to support limited-English-proficient and deaf or hard-of-hearing populations
  • Plan initiatives that strengthen, promote, and communicate Translation and Interpretation Services
  • Prepare capital and operating budgets in partnership with the director
  • Track budget performance, assess variances, and determine corrective actions
  • Manage, develop, train, and assess employees
  • Provide guidance and ongoing support to subordinate staff
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate subordinates while initiating personnel actions as needed
  • Support safety programs and risk-reduction efforts
  • Coach employees on performance, conduct reviews, and foster team morale

Cerințe

  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Typically five years of medical-environment experience providing verbal and written interpretation and translation, prioritizing staff work, and advising colleagues on complex cases
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in a medical environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge in Health Care Administration or Nursing
  • Professional command of bilingual medical terminology covering anatomy and physiology, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and health education
  • Understanding of medical interpreting ethics established by the National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare
  • Ability to oversee interpreters handling sensitive situations, including death and dying
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to use video interpreting methods
  • Availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the position
  • Ability to wear protective clothing when necessary
