Senior Manager, Business Operations Strategy (Canada Remote)

Lead transformation, growth, and profitability initiatives for Valsoft, a software investment firm operating more than 150 businesses. Partner with senior leaders to deliver measurable improvements in business performance.

Description

  • Own transformation plans, performance indicators, and improvement priorities for an assigned mandate or operating area
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities across revenue, pricing, customer retention, costs, service delivery, processes, and systems
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business, customers, financial performance, and competitive landscape
  • Convert strategic priorities into defined actions, accountabilities, and measurable results
  • Lead transformation initiatives from initial diagnosis through implementation
  • Coordinate stakeholders, support adoption, and assess operational and financial impact
  • Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team on business planning, performance reviews, and significant decisions
  • Support teams affected by change while strengthening ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Work with leaders across the portfolio to exchange best practices and advance business improvement initiatives
  • May progress to a Managing Director role within 12 to 24 months, depending on readiness and available opportunities

Requirements

  • Four to seven years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable results
  • Strong commercial and financial judgment
  • Leadership experience through direct people management or ownership of a significant initiative
  • Ability to diagnose problems, set priorities, turn strategy into practical action, and lead cross-functional change through adoption and measurable impact
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across teams and organizational levels
  • Sound decision-making, humility, and a willingness to seek feedback and learn quickly
  • Strong sense of ownership, commercial curiosity, and ambition to build and lead a business
  • Experience in software, SaaS, technology, financial analysis, acquisitions, integration, or operational improvement is valued but not required
  • May be a recent MBA graduate with substantial pre-MBA professional experience, or an established leader who has led a team, function, product, region, or major business initiative
