Operational Resilience Analyst - American Express (Hybrid, Gurugram)

Support American Express in strengthening the resilience of critical banking services and preparing for business disruptions. The role covers resilience testing, governance, reporting, dependency analysis, and risk-control assessments.

Description

  • Map Critical Business Services and their dependencies across personnel, processes, technology, third parties, sites, and essential data
  • Collect, verify, and maintain dependency maps and Impact Tolerance information
  • Review dependency analysis to uncover vulnerabilities and recommend resilience enhancements
  • Maintain Operational Resilience policies, methods, procedures, standards, and related documentation
  • Work with business stakeholders and resilience partners to gather information, close data gaps, and complete assigned deliverables
  • Help design and conduct scenario-based resilience tests
  • Draft After-Action Reports and follow remediation actions through completion
  • Maintain issue logs, track corrective actions, and escalate emerging delays or risks
  • Create resilience metrics reports, dashboards, and Power BI visualizations
  • Develop leadership presentations and management reports
  • Collaborate with Technology Resilience, Third-Party Lifecycle Management, Business Continuity, Global Security, Facilities, and related teams
  • Assist with Business Disruption Governance, regulatory reviews, audits, risk-awareness training, and governance activities
  • Contribute to Risk and Control Self-Assessments, including control definition and testing
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and overall program performance

Requirements

  • Bring two to three years of experience in enterprise program management, operational risk, business continuity, or audit within banking or financial services
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder-management and collaboration abilities
  • Apply conceptual thinking and a risk-oriented perspective to process and operations management
  • Use sound problem-solving skills and make decisions effectively in agile environments
  • Communicate clearly in writing and presentations
  • Build trusted relationships and mobilize cross-functional teams effectively
  • Use advanced Excel and reporting skills to analyze, interpret, and present data
  • Engage with and influence leaders and teams at all levels within a matrixed organization
  • Work independently while prioritizing competing demands, ambiguity, shifting focus, and rapid change
  • Plan and advance change across organizational boundaries
  • Provide management with high-quality, actionable feedback
  • Preferred: Master's degree, B.Tech, MBA, or another advanced degree
  • Preferred: Familiarity with American Express products, services, and organizational structure
  • Preferred: Experience in Business Continuity Management or a related risk-management program role
