Group Benefits Client Relationship Manager

Manage and expand regional Group Benefits accounts for The Hartford, serving customers and brokers while coordinating renewals, underwriting, and coverage growth.

Description

  • Manage a defined portfolio of Regional Account customers covering 500–4,999 lives
  • Retain and expand the assigned book of business
  • Support clients proactively through needs-based interactions, including stewardship meetings
  • Build and execute book-of-business strategies aligned with organizational priorities, profitability and persistence goals, segment requirements, and customer needs
  • Recommend appropriate changes while monitoring evolving benefits, HR requirements, and corporate conditions
  • Coordinate annual enrollment activities and related communications
  • Partner with the Regional Account Executive to identify and pursue new or expanded coverage opportunities
  • Educate brokers and their staff while developing strong working relationships
  • Lead the renewal process with the Regional Account Executive and Underwriter, involving other business partners as needed
  • Act as the primary point of contact among customers, producers, and internal partners
  • Recognize process-improvement opportunities and take appropriate action
  • Explain fundamental underwriting principles, claims experience, and pricing rationale to producers and customers

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of Disability and Life Group Benefits experience; account management experience is preferred
  • Obtain and maintain the Group Life & Health license, including required continuing education, as a condition of employment
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and present to groups of varying sizes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Residence near one of the listed offices in Atlanta, GA, or Alpharetta, GA
  • Availability to work in an office three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday
