Global Payroll Contractor – Canada or UK (Remote)

Melita Group is seeking a part-time remote payroll contractor to process Canadian or UK client payrolls in ADP Workforce Now or ADP iHCM. The role covers reconciliations, statutory filings, employee changes, compliance, and year-end processing.

Description

  • Run recurring and off-cycle payrolls end to end in ADP WFN or iHCM, covering data inputs, validation, approvals, and submission
  • Audit payroll registers, reconcile outputs, and resolve discrepancies before payment release
  • Accurately and promptly manage statutory deductions, filings, and remittances
  • Process hires, terminations, final payments, and updates to compensation or deductions
  • Contribute to quarterly and year-end payroll activities
  • Respond promptly and clearly to payroll questions from clients and employees
  • Monitor client compliance exposure and relevant legislative developments
  • Partner with Melita’s Global Payroll Services Manager to deliver payroll for multiple clients

Requirements

  • Canada pathway: Bring at least three years of Canadian payroll processing experience, including recent hands-on use of ADP Workforce Now Canada
  • Canada pathway: Demonstrate knowledge of CPP/QPP, EI, federal and provincial income tax, and employer health taxes
  • Canada pathway: Have year-end experience with T4, T4A, and Records of Employment forms
  • Experience with Quebec payroll, including RL-1 and QPIP, is strongly preferred
  • PCP or CPM certification from the National Payroll Institute is preferred
  • UK pathway: Bring at least three years of UK payroll processing experience, including recent hands-on use of ADP iHCM
  • UK pathway: Demonstrate knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, and RTI FPS/EPS submissions to HMRC
  • UK pathway: Understand pension auto-enrolment, SSP/SMP/SPP statutory payments, student loan deductions, and attachment of earnings
  • UK pathway: Have year-end experience with P60, P11D, and P45 forms
  • CIPP certification is preferred
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and sound judgment when working to payroll deadlines
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Work independently in a remote environment across time zones that overlap with US Pacific time
