Field Service Technician - SICPA, Quito (Onsite)

Provide Level 2 support for SICPA industrial solutions in Quito. Install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain customer systems on site.

Description

  • Deliver Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, and operational issues
  • Investigate and resolve incidents within defined service-level targets
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize systems and applications
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot faults, and complete scheduled calibrations
  • Keep technical documentation current and assist repair center operations
  • Coordinate field service work with technicians and support teams
  • Bridge communication between Level 2 and Level 3 support functions
  • Support deployments, upgrades, testing, and system validation activities
  • Escalate critical issues and assist with incident resolution procedures
  • Track service performance and help improve operational processes
  • Participate in on-call coverage and emergency interventions as needed
  • Deliver on-site technical assistance to customers and operational teams
  • Share technical expertise and help build capability within local teams
  • Advance continuous improvement, system reliability, and service quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Technical degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, telecommunications, information technology, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of experience in field service, technical maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, industrial equipment, or operational support
  • Background supporting equipment, systems, and customer operations
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to assess mechanical, electrical, software, and application-related issues
  • Knowledge of system monitoring, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with IT support tools including FTP, SSH, PuTTY, SVN, and remote access solutions
  • Knowledge of PLC configuration and basic programming
