Business Development Manager — Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Onsite)

Lead business development for multidisciplinary engineering consultancy projects across Saudi Arabia and the GCC. Build opportunities in AEC, infrastructure, and energy while managing client engagement, proposals, and commercial negotiations.

Description

  • Source and convert new opportunities in building design, infrastructure, and energy projects
  • Shape and deliver business development plans that support DAR Engineering’s growth priorities and target markets
  • Develop lasting relationships with developers, public-sector organizations, PMO and PMC firms, contractors, and other strategic contacts
  • Assess market developments, tender activity, mega- and giga-project pipelines, and competitor movements
  • Manage the client journey from first contact and capability presentations through proposal delivery and contract negotiations
  • Partner with technical, design, and engineering specialists to prepare proposals and sales presentations
  • Promote DAR Engineering’s capabilities across planning, concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction supervision services
  • Represent DAR Engineering in industry forums, conferences, and meetings with clients
  • Work with Bid & Tendering, Marketing, and Technical teams to coordinate proposals and presentations
  • Maintain business development pipeline reporting, including win rates and revenue objectives, for senior management
  • Supply market insights and client feedback to inform strategy and service development
  • Assist legal, finance, and senior leadership with contract negotiations and commercial discussions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, or another related engineering discipline from an accredited university
  • At least 12 years of relevant professional experience
  • Substantial background in business development, client relationship management, or strategic growth
  • Experience with engineering, design, and consulting organizations, including architecture, PMC, or multidisciplinary engineering practices
  • Strong knowledge of building and infrastructure design project stages
  • Demonstrated success winning new business and developing long-term AEC client relationships
  • Previous experience in Saudi Arabia is strongly preferred
  • Established network among developers, government organizations, and consulting firms
  • Experience working with mega- and giga-project stakeholders is advantageous
  • Fluent English communication
  • Arabic proficiency is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of engineering design stages and the AEC project lifecycle
  • Strong capabilities in business development, negotiation, and relationship management
  • Sound commercial judgment
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Strategic, practical, and results-focused approach to pipeline growth and closing deals
  • Ability to work effectively with technical, design, bidding, and marketing teams
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business development reporting tools
