Associate TechOps and Support Engineer in Cairo (Hybrid)
Support production monitoring, deployments, incident response, and platform reliability as an Associate TechOps Engineer. Maintain operational documentation and assist technical teams in hybrid Cairo-based operations.
Description
- Monitor production systems and applications to maintain availability and performance while identifying operational issues promptly.
- Support deployments, CI/CD pipeline execution, and environment configuration under the direction of senior engineers.
- Maintain containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, along with IBM Cloud Pak Stacks and related platform services, resolving routine operational issues.
- Conduct initial incident analysis, troubleshooting, and escalation while contributing to root cause investigations and post-incident reviews.
- Keep system documentation, operational runbooks, configuration records, and knowledge base articles current.
- Take part in on-call support, backup verification, disaster recovery tasks, and routine maintenance to meet service-level commitments.
- Work with Development, Quality, Platform Engineering, and Network teams to sustain reliable production operations and improve support processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0–1 year of experience in technical operations, production support, system administration, or a comparable technical position.
- Working knowledge of Linux or Windows administration, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Bash, PowerShell, Python, and configuration management.
- Familiarity with IBM Cloud Pak solutions such as CP4BA, CP4I, and CP4D; Confluent; Elasticsearch; SQL, DB2, and MongoDB databases; and monitoring tools including Grafana and Prometheus.
- Understanding of networking principles, security practices, identity and access management, backup procedures, disaster recovery, and service reliability.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident management, analytical, and communication abilities, including the capacity to work within approved SLA and SLO targets.
- Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple activities, and deliver dependable operational support in a fast-paced production setting.
