Area Sales Manager, Osaka (Hybrid)

Lead dealer sales for Scania heavy-duty trucks in the Osaka area. Manage sales performance, KPI analysis, local strategy, training, and initiatives to grow market share.

Description

  • Support dealer sales managers and their teams in selling new heavy-duty trucks.
  • Implement and promote sales management practices required by Scania Headquarters and Scania Japan Headquarters.
  • Visit assigned dealers two or three days per week and provide training on projects and systems.
  • Resolve ordering and billing issues, analyze KPI and regional data, and develop local strategies with TS directors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive process implementation, plan required activities, and support budgeting, management, and order-activity tracking.
  • Oversee and report on new-vehicle sales activities within the assigned area.
  • Coordinate dealer and customer matters that fall outside the assigned territory.
  • Evaluate proposals and follow-up initiatives from Scania Headquarters and provide strategic direction.
  • Develop new customers and follow up on projects and tools for dealer sales managers and existing customers.
  • Work with internal departments to increase Scania’s market share.
  • Support and train team members in line with Scania Global Policy.
  • Partner with the Service and Dealer Development departments to resolve and advance business matters.
  • Establish internal and external rules while promoting compliance and governance.

Requirements

  • Valid regular driver's license.
  • Business-to-business sales experience.
  • High school education or higher, with field of study to be confirmed.
  • Four to five years of employment with a single company.
  • Native Japanese and business-level English proficiency, including reading, writing, and conversation.
  • Permanent residence, spouse visa, or Highly Skilled Professional status.
  • Experience with retail networks, such as industrial equipment or parts, preferred.
  • Experience using CRM systems preferred.
  • Heavy truck driver's license preferred.
  • Intermediate English proficiency preferred.
  • Experience planning and executing project management initiatives preferred.
  • Experience guiding or collaborating with company-owned or independently owned dealerships or business partners preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to build teamwork preferred.
