Description

  • Manage and mentor a diverse analytics engineering team
  • Establish instrumentation and experimentation practices, then communicate them to product engineering teams
  • Create and prototype AI tools and analysis pipelines that deliver insights at scale
  • Build expertise in data structures and metrics while advocating for essential improvements
  • Apply AI to speed analysis, prototyping, iteration, documentation, and quality assurance while validating accuracy and quality
  • Work with Data Scientists and Engineers to provide self-service access to datasets, insights, and metric investigations
  • Maintain clear documentation for tools and datasets
  • Set strategy for advancing data quality and democratizing data access across Pinterest
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers to develop and communicate key insights

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience working with data in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Ability to work with large, high-dimensional, complex datasets
  • Proficiency in SQL or another database language
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • Experience manipulating nested data structures and using window functions, query optimization, and data partitioning techniques
  • Experience orchestrating workflows and developing ETL or ELT processes with very large, complex datasets
  • Ability to manage dependencies in directed acyclic graph data workflows
  • Demonstrated success delivering analytics solutions and translating open-ended goals into impactful objectives
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional leaders and convert insights into action
  • Demonstrated use of AI to improve workflow speed and quality, with rigorous evaluation and verification of AI-assisted output
  • High integrity and ownership, including safeguarding sensitive data and remaining accountable for deliverables
  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience
