Senior Staff Accountant (Hybrid)

Lead monthly close, financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and acquisition integration for Neighborly’s home and business services brands. This full-time hybrid role is based in Texas.

Description

  • Manage monthly close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, internal statements, and reporting schedules
  • Maintain compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Evaluate financial data across revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities
  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and related financial reports
  • Partner with operations leaders to support accurate transaction recording
  • Explain financial statement changes, investigate variance drivers, and resolve accounting issues
  • Review contracts to support accurate and timely accounting treatment
  • Coordinate acquisition integration work, including footnote schedules for annual financial statements
  • Support annual audits and financial statement footnotes by preparing, reviewing, and reconciling documentation
  • Recommend and deliver process improvements across the organization
  • Draft reports, analytical summaries, business correspondence, and procedural materials
  • Work with Microsoft Suite, Dynamics, Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP Concur, and Northridge Loan Management Software

Requirements

  • At least five years of relevant industry experience
  • Preferred: strong understanding of US GAAP, including the ability to research, interpret, analyze, and apply technical accounting guidance
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with ERP and financial systems
  • Preferred experience with Great Plains, Concur, Lease Accelerator, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Nortridge Loan Management Software
  • CPA certification is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Ability to sit and stand in an office setting, communicate effectively, use standard office technology, and perform required visual and auditory tasks
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 25 pounds
