Senior Workday HCM Solution Consultant — State Street, Boston Onsite

VP-level Workday HCM consultant responsible for designing and configuring HR technology solutions at State Street. Advises HR stakeholders on Workday modules, releases, integrations, and architecture.

Description

  • Gather requirements with COE stakeholders and clarify the underlying business challenges
  • Lead solution design across business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, custom reports, and integration touchpoints
  • Configure Workday solutions directly in the tenant
  • Coordinate security design with Security and worker data loads and EIBs with Data Management
  • Assess trade-offs between standard Workday functionality, configuration workarounds, and process or policy changes
  • Evaluate the cross-module and cross-COE effects of proposed changes
  • Review twice-yearly Workday releases and recommend whether to adopt or defer new features
  • Contribute architectural guidance to HR technology initiatives and build-versus-buy decisions
  • Maintain auditable, transferable documentation for configurations and design decisions
  • Coach less-experienced team members on Workday configuration practices

Requirements

  • At least 8–10 years of hands-on Workday configuration experience with direct, verifiable ownership of solution design and implementation
  • Advanced configuration expertise in at least one of Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Performance Management, Talent, Prism Analytics, or Severance
  • Ability to turn ambiguous business needs into practical Workday designs
  • Experience owning configuration in a live production tenant, including business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and custom reports
  • Working knowledge of Workday security and EIB or data-load concepts
  • Working knowledge of the wider Workday ecosystem and cross-module dependencies
  • Strong consulting judgment and the ability to explain recommendations to nontechnical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in an HR technology solutions function within a large, matrixed enterprise is preferred
  • Exposure to Workday Extend, Workday Learning, HiredScore, or Paradox is preferred
  • Experience supporting M&A-related Workday configuration is preferred
  • Previous experience mentoring junior analysts or leading a workstream is preferred
