Field Service Engineer, Semiconductor Equipment

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain semiconductor equipment for EBARA Precision Machinery Europe, providing on-site customer support across international sites.

Description

  • Install, upgrade, repair, and maintain complex equipment and systems at customer sites.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot semiconductor equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance across customer sites.
  • Follow environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Support multiple equipment platforms with technical flexibility.
  • Regularly update the Service Manager on equipment status, safety concerns, and action items.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and manage service discussions and expectations.
  • Oversee the performance of assigned equipment and installations.
  • Work scheduled and occasional shifts, with availability for on-call duty.

Requirements

  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 3–5 years of hands-on semiconductor field service experience.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Use systematic, step-by-step troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS guidelines and best practices, with a safety-first mindset.
  • Able to perform hands-on tool work in a cleanroom environment.
  • Fluent in English or German, with basic conversational ability in the other language.
  • Japanese or Chinese language skills are an advantage.
  • Willing to travel internationally for training and business, including to Europe, Japan, and the United States.
  • Hold a valid European driver's license.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment, with a growth mindset, positive attitude, and long-term outlook.
