Senior Network Engineering Manager

Lead network engineering teams responsible for cloud and data center infrastructure at GDIT, a government technology and professional services company. Oversee architecture, operations, modernization, and program growth.

Description

  • Lead network engineering and operations teams delivering projects for cloud and data center infrastructure.
  • Assign engineering work and project responsibilities.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, staffing plans, and quality goals.
  • Coach and develop engineering managers and team members.
  • Resolve critical issues as an escalation lead.
  • Develop and review network designs that meet customer needs and organizational objectives.
  • Assess emerging technologies through research, pilots, vendor reviews, and business cases.
  • Create resilient, scalable architectures with Cisco data center technologies, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud networking, and automation.
  • Contribute to proposals, solution design, service delivery, and contract recompetes.
  • Turn customer and program needs into technical and service plans.
  • Keep leaders, stakeholders, and clients informed about program progress, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Improve policies, workflows, and operating practices.
  • Track product, process, and team performance and plan ongoing improvements.
  • Support financial planning and guide technology choices based on budgets and long-term business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years managing network engineering teams; seven or more years preferred.
  • At least three years of hands-on network engineering or architecture experience.
  • Experience with Cisco data center technologies.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewall platforms.
  • Familiarity with enterprise and cloud networking.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Careful attention to detail, documentation, and interpreting requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
