Senior Principal IT Enterprise Architect, Infrastructure and Security

Description

  • Set and govern enterprise architecture standards, patterns, guidelines, and practices.
  • Review the technology portfolio, identify gaps, and guide modernization and capability growth.
  • Create technology capability models and roadmaps that support business priorities.
  • Spot opportunities and risks across value streams and shape platform strategy.
  • Evaluate IT solutions, identify technical risks, and provide architectural direction.
  • Guide design choices that support a resilient, scalable, and sustainable technology landscape.
  • Represent Global Architecture in reviews of new initiatives, component viability, and major design decisions.
  • Help teams prepare for Architecture Review Board meetings and IT governance forums.
  • Take part in architecture reviews and uphold enterprise standards.
  • Keep architecture documentation and technical risk reviews current in the architecture repository.
  • Connect business and solution architecture through design, implementation, and enhancements.
  • Advise technology teams on systems and infrastructure alignment.
  • Build value-stream roadmaps and plans for maturing capabilities.
  • Review capabilities, technologies, and gaps, and support portfolio rationalization.
  • Track industry and market developments and analyze their impact.
  • Help select solutions and evaluate system integrators.
  • Coordinate delivery priorities with Enterprise Portfolio Management.
  • Update senior leaders on architectural direction, outcomes, and progress.
  • Design architectures for connected devices, edge computing, mobile apps, and A2A/B2B integrations.
  • Apply cloud security architecture, cloud-native services, and enterprise migration strategies.
  • Build automated security controls, guardrails, and compliance scans into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Keep cloud infrastructure aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and FedRAMP frameworks.
  • Define enterprise data architecture and governance that incorporate clinical data standards.
  • Lead interoperability and API strategies using FHIR, HL7 v2+, DICOM, OMOP, and secure data exchange frameworks.
  • Apply AI, automation, and productivity expertise to projects and business solutions.
  • Lead technical due diligence and integration planning for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Create solution roadmaps using SAFe and Scaled Agile practices and EPMO tools.
  • Bring expertise in Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, microservices, data pipelines, Kafka, and DevSecOps.
  • Work with business and IT leaders to advance strategic technology opportunities.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to innovation, demand management, and portfolio processes.
  • Build a collaborative, inclusive, globally connected team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or at least 8 years with an advanced degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a relevant architecture discipline (preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience with data architecture, data modeling, and data management (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience and strong knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts, definition, and development (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in information architecture, or at least 5 years as a data analyst, business intelligence analyst, or in an equivalent role (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience with cloud-based solution data architecture in an enterprise environment (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience working with large enterprise ERP data models (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in business capability, process, technology, and data modeling (preferred).
  • Knowledge of user experience modeling, information design, and concept development.
  • Certifications in frameworks such as TOGAF, or service and control frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT (preferred).
  • Strong business judgment, decision-making, and ability to influence people at all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent communication with employees, clients, senior managers, and vendors.
  • A strong focus on delivering results.
  • Ability to collaborate with employees, leaders, clients, and vendors.
  • Proven ability to work in a global, virtual organization.
  • Strong presentation skills, including explaining technical information in business terms.
  • Technical depth and credibility with technical teams.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or another regulated industry.
  • Ability to mentor and develop business, architecture, and technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • For bachelor’s degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must meet the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
  • Must have unrestricted U.S. work authorization when hired and throughout employment, unless eligible under the stated Principal-level sponsorship policy.
