Category Manager, Germany & Austria – Essity (Hybrid, Mannheim)

Lead FMCG category growth for Essity across Germany and Austria. Shape category strategy, assortments, pricing, promotions, and shopper-insight initiatives.

Description

  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative trade, shopper, and consumer insights to uncover customer and category opportunities.
  • Translate category data and analysis into evidence-based recommendations that support business growth.
  • Create and execute category plans alongside forward-looking category and channel strategies.
  • Improve assortments, merchandising concepts, pricing, promotions, and Net Revenue Management initiatives.
  • Develop and sustain strong business partnerships.
  • Deliver joint category initiatives designed to achieve growth objectives.
  • Share best practices and support networks, national projects, and international initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales and Marketing as the primary link between the functions.
  • Bring the Category Management perspective to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • At least three years of FMCG experience, preferably in Category Management, Customer Marketing, Sales, or Insights.
  • Strong analytical capability.
  • Hands-on experience with NIQ Discover, YouGov SimIT, and promotion data from Drotax or Focus.
  • Power BI knowledge is advantageous.
  • Retail customer experience and a customer-focused approach are preferred.
  • Strong data orientation and a proactive working style.
  • Excellent communication and professional stakeholder-management skills.
  • Fluent German and English, combined with strong negotiation ability.
