SICPA Field Service Technician in Quito

SICPA is seeking a Field Service Technician for its Quito operations. The role provides Level 2 support, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and on-site service for industrial systems.

Description

  • Deliver Level 2 technical support and field service for SICPA solutions.
  • Resolve hardware, software, and operational problems within defined service levels.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize systems and applications.
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot faults, and perform scheduled calibrations.
  • Maintain technical records and assist with repair center operations.
  • Coordinate service work with field technicians and support teams.
  • Facilitate communication between Level 2 and Level 3 support groups.
  • Contribute to deployments, upgrades, testing, and system validation.
  • Escalate high-impact issues and assist with incident resolution.
  • Track service performance and support operational improvement efforts.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and emergency interventions when needed.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to customers and operations teams.
  • Transfer technical knowledge to local teams and support reliability and service quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, telecommunications, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience in field service, technical maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, industrial equipment, or operational support.
  • Background supporting equipment, systems, and customer operations.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to assess mechanical, electrical, software, and application-related problems.
  • Understanding of system monitoring, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with IT support tools including FTP, SSH, PuTTY, SVN, and remote access software.
  • Knowledge of PLC configuration and basic programming.
  • Experience in beverage, tobacco, fuel, manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory settings is preferred.
  • Customer-facing technical support experience is advantageous.
