Remote Property Field Claims Adjuster - Southwest Cleveland/Lorain, Ohio

Description

  • Investigate and manage property claims
  • Gather information, review coverage, conduct field inspections, and resolve claims
  • Handle moderately complex homeowner property field claims, generally within two hours of Cleveland, Ohio
  • Handle desk-based claims when needed
  • Determine claim origins and causes by coordinating with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, investigators, adjusters, and public officials
  • Recognize complex issues and request support when appropriate
  • Manage first-party and third-party claims across multiple policy types and endorsements
  • Perform site inspections, assess damage, and negotiate settlements
  • Answer customer questions, make claim decisions, and close files as appropriate
  • Interpret policies, leases, bylaws, declarations, articles, and contract coverage provisions
  • Explain claim procedures and status while answering or directing questions
  • Complete additional assignments and contribute to projects as needed
  • Report to the Property Claim Manager
  • Travel occasionally to office locations for team meetings, training, and culture events

Requirements

  • Experience delivering customer-focused solutions, support, or service
  • Experience handling first-party and third-party multiline claims across operating territories, or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing moderately complex claims, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of casualty coverage policies and endorsements, or equivalent knowledge
  • Working knowledge of all stages of the claims-handling process, or equivalent knowledge
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • Obtain required state-specific property and casualty claims licenses
  • Hands-on experience with property field claims
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate, and timely Xactimate estimates
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Ability to perform catastrophe duty up to 75% when applicable
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and similar structures
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and hazardous environments
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds in any direction
  • Offer subject to applicable background checks
