Outside Property Associate Claims Representative - Nevada Remote

Train to investigate and estimate first-party property claims for Travelers, a property-casualty insurer. Work remotely with mobile responsibilities while supporting residential and commercial customers.

Description

  • Complete structured virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training in insurance policies, claims processes, systems, and procedures
  • Review, investigate, and document first-party property claims under direct supervision
  • Collect information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers
  • Analyze relevant facts and documentation that affect claim decisions
  • Determine and apply building-damage coverage in accordance with policy terms
  • Develop accurate damage scopes for building and contents losses
  • Create written and computer-assisted estimates
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders
  • Keep claim activity records accurate in claims management systems
  • Adapt to AI initiatives, digital transformation, technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool deployments
  • Inspect and assess all areas of dwellings and structures
  • Travel to support customers across multiple locations, including overnight trips when needed
  • Advance toward independent and fully responsible claims handling after the typical 9-12 month program
  • Complete other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • High school diploma or GED plus one year of customer service experience
  • Prior customer service or insurance internship or work experience
  • Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license when required by state law
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn claims management and estimating software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make effective decisions within established authority
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Basic conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to assess and inspect dwellings and structures, including roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas
  • Ability to carry, set up, and climb ladders weighing approximately 38-49 pounds
  • Ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays
  • Obtain and maintain applicable insurance licenses and/or a UAS Remote Pilot Certification within three months of starting
