Lead product analytics for Caterpillar’s Cat AI Assistant and measure adoption, user behavior, experimentation, retention, experience quality, and business impact. Build scalable BI reporting and turn data into decisions for digital and industrial technology products.

Description

  • Lead technical AI product analytics for the Cat AI Assistant
  • Define measures for product value, user behavior, experimentation, adoption, retention, experience quality, and business impact
  • Examine usage patterns, behavioral trends, funnel performance, and product friction
  • Collect and interpret data from product telemetry, digital analytics platforms, surveys, interviews, support channels, and dealer feedback
  • Use statistical reasoning, segmentation, anomaly detection, cohort analysis, and related analytical techniques
  • Develop product, adoption, and executive dashboards with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable BI tools
  • Collaborate with data, engineering, and product teams to build dependable datasets in Snowflake or similar platforms
  • Use SQL and analytical tools to validate data, investigate trends, and produce repeatable analyses at scale
  • Develop dashboard concepts, wireframes, and mockups
  • Record data sources, joins, calculations, assumptions, and metric definitions
  • Create governance practices for adoption reporting, including definitions, refresh schedules, ownership, and quality checks
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and auditable adoption metrics for internal teams and dealers
  • Contribute to experimentation and product learning plans through A/B testing, pilot measurement, hypothesis development, and success criteria
  • Apply analytical findings to product design, roadmap planning, feature development, launch decisions, and post-launch improvements
  • Assess enablement, launch, and engagement strategies and recommend evidence-based actions
  • Present analytical findings to leaders and explain them clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Work with Product, DACS, Dealers, Customer Support, and Industry Partners
  • Track industry developments and leading practices in digital and AI adoption measurement
  • Coach colleagues and offer technical direction
  • Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by Caterpillar management

Requirements

  • Substantial experience analyzing product usage, user behavior, engagement, retention, digital adoption, or customer experience data
  • Ability to establish KPIs, success measures, and analytical frameworks that connect product behavior with business outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience conducting extensive research
  • Curiosity about data, with the ability to revisit business questions, ask probing follow-up questions, and investigate findings
  • Practical experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable visualization platforms
  • Experience using Snowflake, enterprise data warehouses, or similar cloud data platforms
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, complex, or imperfect datasets
  • Python, R, or comparable analytical programming experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of statistics, data mining, cohort analysis, segmentation, experimentation, A/B testing, and anomaly detection
  • Ability to turn complex analysis into actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience creating data dictionaries, metric definitions, dashboard documentation, analytical methods, data quality standards, and reporting guidance
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation describing assumptions, methodology, data limitations, and metric use
  • Comfort working independently as the first person in the role
  • Strong ability to collaborate across functions
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled digital products is advantageous
  • Typically, at least seven years of professional experience in analytics, business intelligence, product analytics, data science, digital product management, or a related discipline
  • Experience with AI-enabled products, digital products, software engineering teams, or technology platforms
  • Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, pilot measurement, product discovery, or customer research methods
  • Ability to lead multiple workstreams, create scalable analytical approaches, and influence product decisions without direct authority
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Product Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Relocation is not approved
