Corporate Events Manager - Houston, TX (Onsite)

Plan and deliver executive conferences, meetings, and engagements for Huntington National Bank in Houston. Manage vendors, budgets, logistics, and attendee experiences across in-person and hybrid events.

Description

  • Develop event strategies and planning cadences that support organizational goals and approved budgets
  • Direct strategic event planning, communications, and stakeholder engagement
  • Partner with executive leaders, regional and business segment teams, and external partners
  • Coordinate site visits, venue selection, hotel room blocks, catering, vendors, and attendee registration
  • Work with marketing and communications teams on invitations, signage, and other event design materials
  • Create attendee experiences for in-person and virtual events
  • Identify, negotiate with, and oversee event vendors
  • Manage multiple projects independently while maintaining quality and budget control
  • Use CVENT throughout the event lifecycle, from initial concept through post-event analysis
  • Monitor event budgets and maintain financial records
  • Build and update project plans covering responsibilities, roles, and timelines
  • Arrange equipment, supplies, audiovisual services, furniture, décor, and gifts
  • Lead or assist volunteer teams handling registration, attendee tracking, materials, and on-site delivery
  • Travel to provide on-site event support
  • Support events outside standard office hours, including evenings and weekends

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent additional experience in place of formal education
  • At least five years of corporate meeting and event planning experience
  • Availability to work beyond standard office hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Some travel is required, with up to 30% travel for on-site event support
  • A degree in event management, hospitality, communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience planning meetings and events in financial services is preferred
  • CVENT experience covering event creation, sourcing, invitations, registration, and management is preferred
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership teams is preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to resolve problems in real time and perform effectively under pressure
  • Careful attention to detail and commitment to high-quality execution
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications
