Senior Salesforce Data Migration Specialist
Lead end-to-end Salesforce data migrations for Australian nonprofits and charities, from strategy and ETL through testing and deployment. The role combines SQL and data engineering expertise with client workshops, team leadership and project delivery.
Description
- Run client workshops to capture requirements and shape data migration strategies.
- Create practical migration solutions for varied client environments.
- Plan, build, test and deploy complete data migrations into Salesforce.
- Analyse data and document migration methods and strategic designs.
- Guide data team members and help strengthen team capabilities.
- Work with Project Managers on schedules, risks, budgets and stakeholder updates.
- Develop client partnerships and offer practical advice on data solutions.
- Maintain data quality, referential integrity and sound governance across project work.
- Deliver migrations for nonprofits, charities, community service organisations and professional associations.
Requirements
- Bring typically 8–10 years of hands-on experience delivering data solutions.
- Have a strong record with the Microsoft data stack, including MSSQL, SSIS, SSDT and Visual Studio.
- Demonstrate end-to-end Salesforce CRM data migration delivery experience.
- Know the Salesforce Bulk API, sandbox environments and Salesforce object model.
- Design, write and optimise complex SQL queries, views and stored procedures to an advanced level.
- Bring expert capability in data migration, ETL, data modelling and pipeline development.
- Have completed at least five complex data migration projects from start to finish.
- Have migrated data from nonprofit platforms such as ThankQ, NPSP, Nonprofit Cloud, Penelope or Carelink.
- Be based in Australia; Melbourne is preferred.
- Hold a valid permit to work full-time and long-term in Australia.
- Bring strong ETL and data engineering skills, including pipeline development, transformation logic and optimisation.
- Prioritise data quality, integrity and accuracy.
- Understand the full data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, data management, orchestration, security and pipeline deployment.
- Communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
- Show strong problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Produce high-quality materials such as data artefacts, mappings, process maps, architecture diagrams and requirements specifications.
- Have experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methods.
- Be able to guide and mentor colleagues.
- Have an interest in the for-purpose sector or experience delivering work for nonprofit organisations.
