Chief Technical Architect, Engineering
Set QAD’s long-term architecture direction for its manufacturing SaaS and agentic AI platform. Shape cloud-native services, data foundations, and production generative AI strategy.

- Set and communicate a three-to-five-year technology strategy and architecture roadmap.
- Partner directly with the CTO and product leaders.
- Design multi-tenant, multi-region platform services with clear service boundaries.
- Establish standards for reliability, performance, security, and cost.
- Guide teams from product silos toward shared, reusable platform capabilities.
- Lead architecture for generative AI and agentic systems, including LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, vector search, evaluation, observability, and model governance.
- Lead data platform architecture spanning streaming, lakehouse, and analytics.
- Run architecture reviews, set design standards, and prioritize technical debt.
- Find and address systemic technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and cross-team architecture conflicts.
- Lead technology assessments, proofs of concept, and commercial reviews across cloud, data, AI tooling, and observability.
- Make build-versus-buy and vendor decisions using total cost of ownership and unit economics.
- Turn early-stage ideas into clear, actionable designs.
- Mentor principal engineers and developing architects.
- Strengthen the organization’s architecture leadership bench.
- Align with Product VPs, QA, DevOps/SRE, and engineering leaders.
- Explain technical trade-offs to executives, customers, and partners, and build consensus.
- Act as the organization’s senior technical authority.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 15 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least five years in an architect or principal-level position.
- Experience at a product company, preferably a SaaS business.
- Ownership of architecture across multiple teams or platform areas.
- Experience influencing 50 or more engineers.
- Deep knowledge of cloud-native systems, distributed computing, microservices, event-driven architectures, and modern data architectures.
- Hands-on experience designing production generative AI or agentic systems, including LLM orchestration, RAG, vector databases, evaluation pipelines, and AI observability.
- Strong grounding in data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and modern engineering practices.
- Working fluency in Java, Python, Scala, Go, or Node.js.
- Recent hands-on experience with design and code reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to establish enterprise-scale governance for quality, performance, resilience, security, and data privacy.
- A record of measurable impact, such as improvements in scale, uptime, latency, cost, or delivery speed.
- Willingness to be based in Pune.
- Experience with platform consolidation, cloud migration, or monolith-to-platform transformation is a strong plus.
- ERP, supply chain, or manufacturing software experience is preferred.
- Patents, publications, conference presentations, or other external technical recognition are preferred.
