Alto is advancing plans for a high-speed passenger rail network connecting Toronto and Québec City. The proposed 1,000-kilometre corridor would use mostly electrified tracks and trains travelling at about 300 km/h, with the aim of making travel faster while supporting regional economic growth and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project is in its development and pre-construction stages, with work spanning public and Indigenous consultation, property acquisition, procurement and technical research. Alto’s work brings together transport, construction and government contexts to develop a major infrastructure program aligned with public net-zero and reconciliation commitments.
