- Lead EVgo’s general ledger accounting organization across multiple teams and managers.
- Set organizational strategy, goals, and accountability frameworks.
- Develop and coach accounting leaders.
- Make independent decisions on resourcing, leveling, and succession.
- Establish and sustain a high-performance organizational culture.
- Set the strategic direction for general ledger close operations.
- Define quality benchmarks, close frameworks, and multi-year improvement plans.
- Track accounting standard-setting and lead adoption of new standards.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and operating standards that comply with US GAAP.
- Oversee the control environment for general accounting operations.
- Evaluate control design and effectiveness, then lead remediation.
- Set and lead systems and automation strategy.
- Improve close efficiency, data quality, and process scalability.
- Evaluate and recommend major technology investments.
- Partner with the CAO on organizational strategy, resource planning, and accounting implications of major decisions, transactions, and capital programs.
- Carry out other duties and special projects as assigned.

- Typically requires 15 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 12 years with a master’s degree, eight years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- CPA license strongly preferred.
- Big Four public accounting experience, with significant client engagement as a senior manager or partner.
- Experience as a controller or equivalent accounting leader at a publicly listed company.
- Record of building accounting organizations and establishing accounting operating standards at scale.
- Equivalent education or training in accounting, finance, or a related field may substitute for a formal degree.
- Authoritative US GAAP expertise across general accounting, including complex capitalization, lease accounting, revenue, and financial close.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-tier accounting organizations in a public company environment.
- Deep expertise in SOX 404 governance, control framework design, and executive-level audit coordination.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and executive presence, with the ability to influence the CAO and senior finance leaders.
- Travel of up to 20% may be required.
