Stateful Services Engineer (PostgreSQL) – Diabolocom, Hybrid France

Operate and scale PostgreSQL and distributed stateful services for Diabolocom’s AI-powered customer communications platform. Strengthen database reliability, failover, scalability, and infrastructure automation.

Descriere

  • Own the operation and improvement of Diabolocom’s stateful services, with emphasis on databases and data stores
  • Run and maintain PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redis, RabbitMQ, and Kafka/Redpanda systems
  • Design and scale database infrastructure spanning more than 50 PostgreSQL clusters
  • Advance database maintenance, upgrades, migrations, high availability, replication, failover, backup and restore, and disaster recovery
  • Rebuild PostgreSQL clusters to enable automated failover between data centers
  • Strengthen queueing systems, including quorum-based RabbitMQ deployments
  • Develop and maintain dependable Redis infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve challenging performance, scalability, and reliability problems
  • Work closely with development, SRE, networking, and infrastructure teams
  • Help improve monitoring, automation, and operational safety
  • Join on-call and incident-management rotations
  • Lead technical projects and help shape engineering decisions

Cerințe

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience as a DBA, Database Engineer, SRE, or in a comparable role, including substantial PostgreSQL experience
  • Experience running production databases and handling upgrades, migrations, replication, backups, recovery, monitoring, and performance diagnosis
  • Sound knowledge of high availability and reliability for stateful systems, including failover, redundancy, replication, disaster recovery, and low-downtime maintenance
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, including replication, consistency, fault tolerance, and operating stateful services at scale
  • Experience with on-premise infrastructure, or the ability and willingness to adapt quickly to bare-metal environments
  • Strong system-design capabilities and the ability to assess scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Experience partnering closely with software development teams to deliver reliable database and stateful-service solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to take part in on-call and incident-management responsibilities
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Experience with ClickHouse, Kafka/Redpanda, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, MySQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB is advantageous
  • Additional experience in advanced Linux administration, bare-metal or data-center operations, observability, capacity planning, load testing, infrastructure automation, configuration management, incident management, root-cause analysis, or post-mortems is advantageous
