Descriere
- Apply AI, machine learning, and technology expertise to build scalable solutions for practical problems
- Deliver solutions end to end, from defining business problems and gathering data through analysis, modeling, validation, and production deployment
- Review relevant academic research and evaluate emerging ideas for new business challenges and existing solutions
- Define deployment approaches for production-ready AI solutions running at scale in cloud environments
- Lead technical designs at both architectural and detailed levels, and review designs
- Maintain code quality across the portfolio through innovation leadership, functional testing, and CI/CD integration
- Mentor junior team members on technical work
- Take part in business and technical discussions and forums across American Express
Cerințe
- PhD or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related STEM field
- A proven record of outstanding research, including journal or conference publications and patents, is required.
- At least 2 years of full lifecycle product development and engineering leadership for highly available, scalable, high-throughput systems
- At least 2 years of experience building and delivering sophisticated solutions using AI approaches, machine learning algorithms, or related technologies that scale effectively
- Expertise in at least one area: generative AI, machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, optimization, probabilistic inference, information retrieval, recommendation systems, Bayesian inference, or advanced time series forecasting
- Hands-on experience with most of the listed open-source tools for orchestration, containerization, model serving, observability, development, machine learning, feature stores, and model formats
- Programming experience in Python, Java, Scala, or Julia
- Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly in writing and presentations
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience with GCP and/or AWS is an advantage
